Our company was born out of necessity after experiencing a death in our family. As lifelong collectors, we knew all about finding & buying but had never considered selling or liquidating! We had a house filled with personal belongings, antiques, and collectibles. Unfortunately, as much as you may want to, you can’t keep everything. We needed help to maximize the value and liquidate – sooner rather than later! We contacted several Dallas, TX, estate sale companies looking for help. Everyone was either too busy, uninterested, or wouldn’t return our calls and messages. We launched Legit Estate Sales to help families with the overwhelming and incredibly emotional process of keeping, selling and liquidating.

About Us

The Legit Estate Sales story started more than 40 years ago when Michelle attended auctions with her parents nearly every weekend as a child. In her twenties, she scoured estate sales and thrift stores searching for must-have pieces and anything with a little “rust & crust” that she could afford. On the other hand, Rick traveled the world with his parents and began his impressive collection of action figures, coins, and unique treasures from his various trips around the globe. Growing up in Dallas, he had the opportunity to collect items from some of the area’s most infamous estate sales & auctions, including the Margaret Hunt estate and the legendary Trammel Crow estate, to name a few.

Although they come from vastly different backgrounds, both come from a long line of antique hunters, junkers, and collectors. When they’re not antiquing, you can find them designing native Texas landscapes & water features around Dallas and spending time with their three kids and multiple pets.
